What time is check-in/check-out?
Check in time is 3-6pm
Check out is promptly at 11am
We do accommodate an early/late check-in time (starting at 1pm) for a $25 fee. Please call to make special arrangements, as to the approval of your request is based on availability.

Do you have free parking and complimentary WiFI?
Yes, at The Ginkgo Tree we offer free on-site parking and Wifi access for overnight guests.

Can you accommodate a vegetarian and gluten free diets?
With notice, The Ginkgo Tree can accommodate both vegetarian and gluten free diets. When making your reservation, please note your dietary restrictions.

How many guests are allowed per room?
All guest rooms accommodate only two people. We do not have cots or pullout sofas. More than two guests in one bed, or sleeping on the guest room floor is not permitted. A fee will be assigned if policies are not followed.

I would like flowers, wine and a charcuterie board added to our stay. How can I do this?

Do you allow pets?
Not at this time.

Do you allow smoking in your rooms?
The Ginkgo Tree is a 100% non-smoking facility. Please note that e-cigs, vapors, hookahs, marijuana, etc. fall under our non-smoking policy. A minimum $250.00 cleaning/violation fees will be applied to smoking in areas that are non-smoking.

can we bring outside alcoholic beverages?
No Outside Alcoholic Beverages are permitted on the property. All of our public spaces are covered by our liquor license, allowing guests to enjoy their favorite drink from our bars throughout the property. Michigan state liquor license law prohibits BYOB and the consumption of alcohol purchased outside of the property to be consumed in areas covered by our license – which includes our entire grounds and all public spaces within The Ginkgo Tree. While staying with us, please respect the law and visit our licensed on-site bars for alcoholic beverages.
If our Bars are closed, our Guest Services team will be more than happy to serve you with a limited menu. You will be asked to keep any outside beverages in your car once. If this request is not complied with forthwith, a $300 fine per incident will be applied to your hotel folio, outside alcoholic beverages will be confiscated, and/or you will be asked to leave the property.

What is your cancellation policy?
The Ginkgo Tree is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, full refund for cancellations if the check-in date is at least 14 days* away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in and guest will be charged 100% of total booking value. Cancellations made same day of the arrival date and no-show, guest will be charged 100% of the total booking value. No refunds for cancellations made with a non-refundable promotion.
Should a guest depart earlier that the confirmed departure date, a full cancellation fee for the remainder of the stay will be charged.
Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests. *A 30 day cancellation notice is required on whole house bookings and for some holidays and special events.
Liability and Force Majeure:
The Ginkgo Tree, the ownership, or staff, cannot be held responsible for events that are outside of our control such as, but are not limited to:
-Transport delays or cancellations from airlines or any type of transport.
-Bad weather, storms or any type of natural disaster, epidemic or pandemics.
-Government/political actions, events or situations or acts of war or terrorism.
-Electrical outages (including WiFi service) due to weather, mechanical maintenance or construction difficulties, resulting in loss of enjoyment.
-Personal health issues or personal situations in general which may affect travel plans.
-Any loss, theft or damage of personal items at any stage of your trip.
-Any accident causing injury during any stage of your trip. All hospital, transport and medical expenses are the guest's responsibility.
-If your travel plans change/event has been cancelled.
-Our policies are subject to change at our discretion based on circumstances outside of our control.
Travel Insurance:
We highly recommend that all of our guests secure a quality Travel Insurance. Not all policies are the same. You should check carefully what is and what is not covered before choosing your coverage. Please ensure your policy covers you for any unexpected changes outside of our terms & conditions.

Is there a minimum age requirement to check in?
Guests must be 18 or older with a valid government issued identification and a credit card/debit card that matches the valid government issued identification to reserve and to check-in to a guestroom.

What other activities, restaurants, attractions or shopping are available?
We are nestled in the heart of downtown Mount Pleasant, MI with many local shops, restaurants and parks close by. From hiking and kayaking to local wineries and breweries, there are several activities available close to The Ginkgo Tree.
The Ginkgo Tree is also conveniently located only 1 mile from Central Michigan University's main campus, 3 miles from the Soaring Eagle Casino and 20 miles from Alma College.
